Volume 7: Thursday, Aug. 27
Classes started Monday night this week and campus is finally packed with students again. It is such a different atmosphere during the fall and spring, than during the summer. There seems to be so much chaos the first week and a half with all of us students trying to figure out our new schedules and get into a routine. You see old faces that you haven't seen since last spring.
As far as football, this week we began our normal fall routine. Monday's are usually our day off from football as a whole, depending on when game day is. Tuesday through Friday, we have short position meetings around 2 p.m. and then get ready for practice, which starts at 3:15 p.m. The redshirt freshmen have weights every Tuesday and Thursday morning and the vets lift every Wednesday morning.
This past Tuesday was our last scrimmage of fall camp. The coaches made it clear that it was an important scrimmage for a lot of the players on the team. It was the last chance to give the coaches a good look during a live session with team. We ran around 70 plays, plus some live special teams. Both sides of the ball were put into tough situations and made plays when needed.
Overall, it's nice to start classes again, which means our first game isn't far away. Speaking of our first game, we will begin to prepare for Texas Tech in practice this upcoming week.
