CHARDON, Ohio - The Fighting Sioux men's golf team is currently in eighth place after the first round of competition in the Telich Sun Life Invitational with a score of 318. Leading the way for the Fighting Sioux is Tyler Monda (So., Brainerd, Minn.), who is currently tied for 16th place with a first round score of 77.
Senior Dustin Steiner (Fargo, N.D.) carded a score of 79, which places him tied for 29th overall after the first round. Patrick Thomas (So., Fargo, N.D.) is currently tied for 37th place with a score of 80.
Freshman Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.) posted a first round score of 82. Robb is currently tied for 46th. Rounding out the first day of competition for the Fighting Sioux men is freshman Nick Schaefer ( Grand Forks, N.D), who is currently tied for 70th place with a score of 93.
The Sioux men will continue the competition tomorrow morning at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio.
