Volume 8: Thursday, Sept. 3
Its game week and we head down to Lubbock, Texas to battle against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in our first game of the season. It's a huge opportunity for our program to compete and see where we stand against higher ranked opponents.
It's going to be fun, exciting, and a good test for us.
Lately, everyone has been asking us questions like:
"Are you ready for Texas Tech?"
"How have you prepared to play against them?"
"Do you think you can compete on their level?"
Etc...
I sit here and think about these questions. Yes, I know they have great athletes and are very successful at what they do - but I know what we can do.
For myself, and most of the team, I feel comfortable to say that we are going down there to compete. We're not going to back down. We have a very strong tradition up here at UND and we've prepared for them like any other football team over the years.
I know that every Sioux football player that steps onto the field down in Lubbock will give 110 percent on every play. I know this because I played with a lot of the guys last year. We work hard at everything we do and we love to compete. We stick together no matter what's going on - on or off the field.
We know their numbers on paper and we know what they've done in the past, but just like every other game, we prepare ourselves for a WIN.
We depart Friday morning for Lubbock, Texas to get ready for our first battle of the season against Texas Tech at 6:00pm Saturday night.
