ORLANDO, Fla. -- Despite a loss yesterday, the UND tennis
team came back with a strong win over Marist today. Freshman Megan Sween (Grand Forks) and senior Emma Larson (Glenwood, Minn.) contributed in a 4-3 victory over the Red Foxes on its spring trip.
North Dakota was able to capture three singles matches,
including a nailbiter between freshman Megan Sween (Grand Forks, N.D.) over
Jeanne Lukin 6-3, 4-6, 7-6.
In No. 4 singles, senior Emma Larson (Glenwood, Minn.)
cruised to a victory over Kayla O'Donovan 6-1, 6-0.
The Fighting Sioux claimed the doubles point by dominating
two out of the three matches. UND's number one and two doubles took over with
8-4 and 8-6 margins.
North Dakota, 5-8 on the season, now travels to Daytona
Beach to prepare for Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday.
