Colorado Springs, Colo.-- The UND women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Air Force Sunday afternoon at Colorado Springs.
The Falcons dominated singles play with victories in all six matchups, all in which came in straight sets. The best match of the day came at the No. 2 spot between UND's freshman Erin Kappers and AF's sophomore Tahlia Smoke. Smoke defeated Kappers 6-3, 6-1.
Air Force claimed all three doubles matchups. UND's number three doubles team of Megan Sween (Fr., Grand Forks) and Chelsey Galipeau (Fr., Dickinson, N.D.) came close to a victory against AF's Melissa Cecil and Erlyn Rudico losing 8-6.
The loss, UND's third in a row on its road trip, dropped the Fighting Sioux to 6-12 on the season. UND will travel to St. Peter, Minn., on April 17 to play Green Bay and South Dakota.
