BROOKINGS, S.D. - The University of North Dakota tennis team bounced back after a three-match losing streak yesterday, beating the University of South Dakota 4-3 at Brookings.
The Fighting Sioux dominated doubles play with victories in all three match-ups.
In No. 2 singles, senior Katie Callison (Mesa, Ariz.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over USD's Melanie Rockne. Freshman Hallie Welk (Bismarck, N.D.) captured USD's Marina Kiefer in No. 3 singles, coming out with a victory with a 6-2, 6-2 margin.
UND, now 7-12 on the season, returns to action May 1 when it hosts the Great West Conference Championship.
