GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Fourth-seeded Texas-Pan American won its second match of the day, a 4-2 upset over top-seeded Chicago State, and will face hosted and third-seeded North Dakota on Sunday in the 2010 Great West Conference Tennis Championship final.

UTPA captured the doubles point on the strength of No. 2 pair Nina Ciric and Reetta Raty, who defeated CSU's Juan Rosalia Tejoprayitno and Juan Rosalina Tejoprayitno 8-6. The Broncs also recorded a forfeiture win in No. 3 doubles over the Cougars, who were fielding just five players.

Dian Mayasari and Golda Rubina earned CSU's lone doubles victory, defeating Luisa Cantu and Megan Bedeau 8-2 in No. 1 doubles.

UTPA began singles play immediately leading 1-0 by virtue of a forfeiture in No. 6 singles. However, Juan Rosalina Tejoprayitno and Goldina Rubina each earned straight-set wins, 6-4 and 6-4, at No. 3 and No. 4 singles to tie the match.

But Ciric came out on top in a lengthy battle over Mayasari in No. singles, defeating Mayasari 7-6 and 6-3. Then, in No. 2 singles, Cantu clinched the win for the Broncs by defeating Juan Rosalia Tejoprayitno 4-6, 6-3 and 6-2.

With the UTPA victory clinched, the No. 5 singles match between CSU's Peggy Moore and UTPA's Sarah Burton went unfinished tied at one set each.

The Broncs will face host UND in Sunday's championship game at noon. Chicago State, meanwhile, will face either South Dakota or New Jersey Institute of Technology in the third-place game at 9 a.m.

Both matches are scheduled to be held outdoors at Snookie Register Tennis Complex. If inclement weather forces the tournament indoors, the matches will be played at Center Court Fitness Club.
