ORLANDO, Fla. -- North Dakota ran its winning streak to a season-long three straight matches today after toppling Bethune-Cookman 6-1.
With the win, the Fighting Sioux improved to 7-6 on the season and 3-2 on their annual Florida spring trip.
"This is the first time in the DI
transition that UND has won three consecutive DI matches," said Sioux head coach Tom Wynne. "We aren't a
power by any means, but we are no longer an easy win for most DI teams. Callie (Ronkowski) turned in a good performance, and the two Stephs (Stephanie Petsis, Stephanie Biehn) continued to
roll."
Ronkowski, Petsis and Biehn, all freshmen, cruised to singles victories, three of the five won by the Sioux. UND also swept the doubles point.
The Sioux will conclude their spring trip on Thursday against Bucknell.
