GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- The University of North Dakota volleyball team hosted an intrasquad scrimmage Tuesday night at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. It provided one of the final tuneups before UND officially opens the season Friday with three matches at Iowa State University.

Some takeaways from the scrimmage:
*A few players did not dress in the scrimmage and assistant coach Mia Tabberson suited up as one of the setters. (and she had 37 assists, by the way. She's still got it.)

*Couple of big swings early off the powerful left-armed swing of freshman Amanda Harnett gave the Green team an early lead in the first set. She would end the first frame with nine kills and 19 kills in the three sets.

*Alivia Fraase had four kills in the first set as the Green won, 25-23. She hit .619 for the match (14 kills).

*Courtney Place showed off a strong, powerful swing as the White team rallied in the first set after a slow start. Her final stat line read nine kills and 11 digs.

*White team won, 25-22, in the second set.

*Denae Dominguez had a diving save that led to a point as the Green team rattled off several consecutive points midway thourgh the third set.

*The White team was declared the winners with a third set win of 25-19.

*McKenzie Hart tallied 26 digs for the match.
