THIS WEEK
North Dakota hosts St. Cloud State this weekend in National Collegiate Hockey Conference play.
SATURDAY RECAP

Cole Smith had a power-play goal and the season's first short-handed tally and
Adam Scheel made 27 stops for his eighth win of the season.
FRIDAY FLASHBACK
Colton Poolman scored 2:22 into the 3-on-3 overtime to give North Dakota the extra NCHC standings point in an official 1-1 tie Friday night at Magness Arena. Both goaltenders were outstanding with
Adam Scheel saving 30 shots for UND in the tie.
Jasper Weatherby collected his third goal in as many games.

This weekend's games will both be telecast live on Midco Sports Network, the primary TV home of North Dakota hockey. SPECIALTY SMITH
Cole Smith registered both a power-play and a short-handed goal in the Nov. 16 win at Denver. It marked the first two goals of his season.
WHAT MAN ADVANTAGE?
North Dakota's penalty kill has been elite this season and that continued last week at Denver as DU went scoreless on its 10 power play opportunities. Included in that were a pair of five-minute opportunities that North Dakota stymied on the way to a 1-1 tie and a 4-1 win. UND's penalty kill is at .949, second-best in the country.
SCHEEL THING
Adam Scheel picked up his 10th win over a ranked team in Saturday's victory at Denver.
HELPING YOUR OWN CAUSE
Goalie
Adam Scheel had an assist on the game-winning goal Nov. 16 at Denver. It marked his second career assist.
WEATHERBY OR NOT TO BE
Jasper Weatherby turned in his third straight power play goal last Friday, becoming the first UND player to score a PPG in three consecutive games this season. The last to do it was
Rhett Gardner last year (Nov. 17-24). The last North Dakota player to make it four straight was Shane Gersich in 2017 (Nov. 12-25).
KAWAGUCHI GETS IT GOING
Jordan Kawaguchi has had a hand in six of UND's 11 first goals of the game. Friday, he had the primary assist on Weatherby's goal and he has now either scored or grabbed an assist in five of the last seven North Dakota first goals of the game.
SCHEEL GOOD
Adam Scheel recorded 30 saves Friday for the third time in his career. He is 1-1-1 in those games (33 saves vs St Cloud on Jan 25, 2019 (L) and 32 at Western Michigan Feb. 15, 2019 in a win).
GETTING THEM OFF THEIR PEDESTAL
UND has beaten the No. 1 team in the country (in either national poll) in each of the last five seasons.
2019-20 Nov 16 at Denver W, 4-1
2018-19 Jan 26 vs. SCSU W, 5-1
2017-18 Nov 17 at Denver W, 5-4
2016-17 Mar 17 vs Denver W, 1-0
(NCHC Semifinals)
2015-16 Apr 9 vs Quinnipiac W, 5-1
(national championship game)
MAGNESS BUSINESS
North Dakota sported the business suits last Saturday as its bested Denver, 4-1, to take the series against the Pioneers. It marked the first series win at Magness for UND since the 2003-04 season.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
UND's +27 goal differential is tied for the country's best mark among all Division I schools heading into this week. North Dakota has outscored its opponents, 44-17, and already has four games with five goals or more this season, just one shy of all of last season's tally.
