YOUTH DAY AT THE BETTY
UND Volleyball will host Youth Day on Sunday afternoon against South Dakota State (Nov. 10) with tickets starting at just $5 for children and $10 for adults.
All youth grades 1-8 are welcome to take part in the festivities before and after the match. Events include the following:
- Pre-match fan tunnel (arrive by 12:45 pm)
- Contestants will be randomly selected to take part in an on-court 2nd & 3rd set break contest.
- Post-match clinic (30 minutes) with select members of Fighting Hawks Volleyball
WHAT'S GOOD?
*The University of North Dakota's four-set win at Western Illinois ensured the season sweep of the Leathernecks, giving UND the higher ground in tiebreaker scenarios come Summit League Tournament time.
*North Dakota enters the weekend in seventh place in the conference standings with a 3-9 record as South Dakota State owns the tiebreaker with wins over the Fighting Hawks and NDSU.
*UND is a flawless 4-0 in five-set matches this season.
*With a 3-9 record in Summit League matches in 2019, North Dakota has dropped 14 sets by three-or-fewer points. The Fighting Hawks have lost 31 sets in conference matches.
*Since moving to libero,
Darian Chwialkowski has averaged over 5.00 digs per set. The sophomore from West Fargo has posted 5.14 digs per set in the last six matches, including a 33-dig performance at South Dakota State in her debut.

*While she only averages 3.52 digs per set on the season, her time as the backline's anchor would rank her among the leaders in The Summit League as Purdue Fort Wayne's Rachael's Crucis leads the conference with 4.83 digs per set.
*In the last six matches, North Dakota is averaging 1.48 service aces per set, totaling five-or-more aces four times in that span. The Fighting Hawks posted seven in back-to-back matches against Denver and Omaha.

Brynn Nieukirk led the Fighting Hawks in kills at Purdue Fort Wayne. It was the first time this season the Washington, Ill., native led UND in kills as she returned from injury on Sept. 27 at Omaha.

Taylor Riedl registered seven kills and 9.5 points against the Mastodons last Sunday, her best performance since the Fighting Hawks took on The Citadel on Sept. 13 (9 K, 11.5 pts).
*As a team, North Dakota averaged almost 2.00 blocks per set last weekend, tallying nine in five sets at WIU and eight more in four sets at Purdue Fort Wayne.
*In their victory over the Leathernecks, the Fighting Hawks recorded all four of their service aces in the match during the fifth set.
*In the first meeting, UND held South Dakota State to a .163 hitting percentage.
*North Dakota's and Denver's first meeting was originally scheduled for Oct. 11 but was delayed to a snowstorm in the Grand Forks area. The match was made up on Oct. 22 as the Hawks fell in three-sets, 22-25, 18-25, 22-25.

North Dakota will close the regular season next week when it plays at North Dakota State on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and plays its final home match of 2019 against Oral Roberts on Friday, Nov. 15.
