BROOKINGS, S.D. – Senior
Destinee Rose-Haas continued her impressive start to the 2021 season, winning the women's weight throw with a personal record mark of 20.31 (66-7.75). The throw improved her standing as the second best all-time at North Dakota in the event only behind three-time All-American
Molli Detloff.
Freshmen and seniors led the way by either cracking the all-time UND top 10 or bettering the mark in four events in the Fighting Hawks' second meet of 2021.
Making her 800-meter collegiate debut freshman Connie Wolfahrt's time of 2:13.42 gave her the fourth-best in North Dakota history.
Eve Goldstein led a trio of Hawk top-nine finishers in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.73m (45-0.5) which ranks 10th all time in program history. Junior Ally Lardy finished one spot behind Goldstein with a mark of 13.63m (44-8.75) and freshman
Kenna Curry finished ninth with a heave of 12.84m (42-1.5).
Jennifer Parent finished second overall in the long jump with a mark of 5.52m (18-1.5) which moves her into seventh all time in the event at North Dakota. She also finished second in the triple jump leaping 11.18m (36-8.25).
Senior Madison Jerome finished second overall in the 600-meter run just a half second back of her person record of 1:36.49 set last year. Teammate
Amanda Robbins crossed the line third in 1:39.82.
Mitchel Wangler finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.43.
Patrick Kipkemboi crossed the line fifth in the 3,000-meter run moving up to fifth all time at UND with a time of 8:33.73.
Freshman
McKenzie Burian finished second overall in the mile with a time of 5:11.71 while teammate
Kendra Franck was eighth in 5:21.76.
The women's 4x400-meter relay of McKenzie Severson, Jerome, Wolfahrt and
Lucy Steinmeyer finished third overall in a time of 3:55.26.
Austin Wolf cleared 1.97m (6-5.5) to finish second in the men's high jump.
Erica Eades, who has outdoor eligibility remaining for UND ran unattached and won the 800-meter in 2:09.72 which would be a school record. Reigning Summit League 400-meter champion Steinmeyer ran up a couple races and finished seventh of 21 in the 800-meter in 2:17.63.
UND will return to action next week in the friendly confines of the High Performance Center, hosting the UND Open on Jan. 30.
