NOTES: UND Faces Southern Indiana and Jamestown

Fighting Hawks Meet Eagles and Jimmies

The North Dakota soccer team welcomes Division I newcomer Southern Indiana for the first regular season  match of the season on Thursday, Aug. 18 starting at 1 p.m. (CT) at Bronson Field. The Fighting Hawks then continue the season at home as they host the Jamestown Jimmies on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. (CT). Both games will be streamed live on Midco Sports Plus. Fans also can follow the action live via Twitter

Next Up

The Fighting Hawks fly south for a meet-up with an old Big Sky foe. UND faces Northern Colorado on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. (CT) for their first away battle of the season.  

Kicking Off

• North Dakota continues to build a tradition of playing a strong non-conference schedule in 2022. This year's slate features one Big Ten foe, one WAC opponent, another from the Ohio Valley, two from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, three from the Big Sky, and one from the Big East.

• The Fighting Hawks have eight regular-season home games scheduled at Bronson Field in 2022. Within those eight, UND will host one exhibition, three non-conference and five conference matches.  

• Senior Madi Livingston and redshirt senior Hannah Olson were named Players to Watch in the 2022 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Livingston posted a 1.69 goals against average and 69 saves for a .726 save percentage in 2021.Olson ended last season sitting seventh in the League in shots with a total of 35 for an average of 2.50 per game. She sat second on the team for the Fighting Hawks in points with nine (four goals, one assist) during her 1,078 minutes of play.

• Senior Bailey McNitt led the Fighting Hawks across the board last year. She led the team in points (10), shots (35), shots on goal (16) and assists (4). She sat third for goals with three. McNitt compiled 25 shots in the Summit League to place her tenth on the leaderboard for the conference. 

• Head Coach Chris Logan enters his sixth season, alongside associate head coach Jessica Nei (second season) and assistant coach Danny Burstein (second season).
