ALBUQUERQUE, N.M./BOSTON, Mass./Brookings, S.D. – The North Dakota track and field teams opened three meets on Friday, competing at New Mexico, Boston and South Dakota State. The Fighting Hawks finished day one of the meets with a tied school record and two additional improvements to the UND top-10 lists.

In New Mexico, Tiffanie Magnusson tied the school record in the long jump on her first attempt with a PR leap of 19-3 1/4 (5.87m). That jump ties her with current Fighting Hawk Elise Ulseth for the record. Magnusson became just the third person in UND history to jump over 19-0 in the event.

Later in the afternoon, Magnusson also took part in the 200 meters and just missed the UND top-10 list by 0.25 seconds, clocking a personal-best time of 25.74.

Kenna Curry led UND in the weight throw, making the finals and finishing ninth with a PR toss of 61-9 (18.81m). That throw improved Curry's No. 6 mark in program history.

In Boston, Conny Wohlfahrt was the lone Fighting Hawk to take the track and moved up to No. 3 on the UND top-10 list in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:53.52.

At South Dakota State, Eliana Malnourie paced UND and was 11th in the 3,000 meters with a PR time of 10:11.85.

Greta McLagan posted the biggest personal-best improvement of the day, running the 5,000 meters and finishing with a PR time of 18:18.86. That time beat her previous best by just over 27 seconds.

Competition continues Saturday with North Dakota resuming action at New Mexico, Boston and South Dakota State. Live results and streaming information for the meets can be found at FightingHawks.com.
