Martin leads Sioux to 10th place finish at Husky Invititational

Led by senior Molly Martin's (Ramsey, Minn.) final-round 78, the University of North Dakota's lowest score of the Husky Invitational, the Fighting Sioux women's golf team finished 10th. The event was hosted by Houston Baptist at the Sienna Plantation Golf Club.

Martin led the Sioux finishing with a 253 (82-93-78).

Freshman Kate Podolak (Oxbow, N.D.) scratched a final round 83 on her score card Tuesday. The 83 was Podolak's lowest single-round score of the season and put her second amongst UND's finishers with a overall score of 259 (88-88-83).

Lamar University drove its way to the top of the team leader board 933 (314-311-308), with all five of its golfers finishing in the top 20.

UND finished with a 1041 (344-357-340).

Sam Houston State's Shelby Hardy finished first by posting the only even score of the tournament with her second round 72.

The Sioux return to the links next week April 11-12 at Creighton.
