NLI signees Finger, Hallie round out roster

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota Head Women's Golf Coach Natalie Martinson announced today the signings of Emily Hallie and Brooke Finger to National Letters of Intent to play for the Fighting Sioux in 2011-12.

Finger is a native of Northfield, Minn., and a 2011 graduate of Northfield High School. A six-year letterwinner in golf, Finger was a five-time All-Missota Conference performer (2007-11), four-time state tournament qualifier (2008-11), three-time all-state selection (2009-11) and three-time team MVP (2009-11).

Finger recorded a scoring average of 80.2 as a senior and was named Richfield's Most Outstanding Senior Female Athlete after placing sixth at the Minnesota State tournament.

"Brooke has a passion for the game and is coming off of a strong finish at her state tournament in Minnesota, which will propel her into making an impact this fall at the University of North Dakota," Martinson said.

Hallie is a native of Roseau, Minn., and a 2011 graduate of Roseau High School, where she lettered six times in golf and served as a three-year team captain. She won the team's Ram Award in 2011 (hockey) and 2010 (tennis) and also lettered six times in tennis and three times in hockey.

A member of the National Honor Society, Hallie received the Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award and the Presidential Academic Award.

"Emily is a multi-sport athlete who had a high level of success during high school, which will allow her to make a strong impact at the University of North Dakota for years to come," Martinson said.

The Fighting Sioux open the 2011 fall season at the Green Bay Invitational on Sept. 11.
