Kromy shoots career-best round to cap RMI

Highlands Ranch, Colo. - Senior Mikki Kromy's career-best round helped the North Dakota women's golf team to its lowest round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate that concluded on Sunday.

Kromy bettered her previous best by a stroke, carding a 76 (+4) on the Highlands Ranch Golf Course outside of Denver. Kromy had one birdie to go with five bogeys and 12 pars and her 244 (+28) total equaled junior Sadie Martin for the best finish on the squad. Martin finished play with an 80 (+8).

Kromy and Martin helped UND shoot a 322 (+34) in the final round, which was the team's top round of the 54-hole tournament. Kansas State won the team title by seven strokes over in-state rival Kansas. The Wildcats finished with an 877 (+13), while the Jayhawks shot an 884 (+20).

Sophomore Alexis Guggisberg turned in her best round of the tournament as well on Sunday with an 81 (+9).

UND will return to action on Oct. 20 at the Creighton Classic in Omaha.
