Biography

 A candidate for postseason honors ... One of four team captains.

Coach Ziegler says: “Brian brings an enormous amount of talent back from last year's super year.  We expect Brian DeVillers to be the difference. He could be one of the feared hitters in the North Central Conference this year.  We think that he has all the capabilities of rewriting some records as far as offensive categories are concerned for us.”

2002: Led the Fighting Sioux in many offensive categories including homers (11), RBI (45), runs (36), slugging (.627) and total bases (79) ... Had ten multi-RBI games ... Had 11 games with more than one hit ...  Hammered two homers and two singles, driving in seven at Northern Colorado (4-13-02) ... Had seven-game hit streak from 3-11-02 to 3-23-02 in which he hit .600 ... Hit .444 through first half of the season (18 games) ... Finished season by homering in last three games (vs. NDSU).

2001: His .390 batting average was best on team among players with more than 60 at bats and ninth-best single-season average in school history ... After 4-16 start, finished season 35-84 (.417) ... Twice had four hits in a game against Minnesota-Crookston ... Had five RBIs in 19-6 win at Minnesota-Crookston on April 26 ... Had 13 multiple-hit games ... Reduced season strikeouts by more than half (37 to 17) from his first year.

2000: Hit .256 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs in 40 games ... Had six multiple-hit games ... Was 3-4 with two home runs, four RBIs in third collegiate game?a 14-9 win over Davis & Elkins (3-14-00) ... Capped excellent rookie season with six hits in his final 13 at bats ... Also pitched in seven games with five starts and two complete games, posting 2-3 record and 9.55 earned run average.

High School: 1999 Red River High School graduate ... Lettered three years in basketball, two years in baseball ... Selected all-state in basketball as senior and All-Eastern Dakota Conference as junior and senior... A USA Today honorable mention All-America choice in baseball... Was 13-1 on the mound in 1999... Played with Grand Forks Royals American Legion team ... Was a unanimous all-conference selection during summer of 1998 ... Set Grand Forks Legion records for home runs (19) and RBIs (108) in a season and home runs (24) and RBIs (188) in a career.
