Coach Ziegler says: “Scott wil be looked at to provide some offensive power for UND and also solidify the catching position. We need a strong a defensive catcher. Scott has worked very hard to become that. We need Scott to have a super year offensively to put us in the hunt for a conference championship.”
2002: Started 29 of 31 games he played ... Knocked-in at least one run and had at least one hit in five straight games (4-13-02 to 4-16-02) ... Had a similar streak later in the season, where he had at least one hit and scored at least one run in five straight contests (4-23-02 to 4-28-02) ... Was hit by pitch on 16 different occasions, tied for most in the conference ... Third on the team in RBI with 19 ... Fifth on the team in runs scored with 19 ... Committed just 2 errors all season.
2001: Started all 31 games in which he played ... Recorded five multiple-hit games ... Went 4-5 with home run and three RBIs at Bemidji State on April 30 ... His .980 fielding percentage (178 putouts, 17 assists, 4 errors) was best among the team’s starters ... threw out nine of 50 runners attempting to steal (18 percent) ... hit .357 (10-28) in final seven games of season.
2000: Started 28 games ... Threw out seven of 35 runners attempting to steal (20 percent) ... Had .972 fielding percentage (157 putouts, 15 assists, 5 errors) ... Had five multiple-hit games ... Hit two homeruns on April 4 against Southwest State ... Walked 17 times while striking out just 12 times ... On-base percentage (.465) was second-best on team and batting average (.325) was third-best on team ... Ended season by going 10-for-23 (.435) in his last eight games.
High School: Played American Legion baseball during high school ... Earned two letters each in football and hockey at East Grand Forks High School ...
